After an unusually mild winter (apart from the odd plunge in temperatures), I don’t know about you but I’m definitely in the mood for a complete spring wardrobe overhaul. And what better (and cheaper) way to do that than with a major shopping trip to the UK Designer ‘pop up’ Sales? With all new 2012 stock already in we’re ready to get you kitted out in the latest that London has to offer.
These are our new Spring 2012 dates (check our website for times):
February 11th – Sheraton Parkway Hotel, Richmond Hill
March 16th & 17th – The Royal York Hotel, Toronto
April 6th & 7th – The Delta Meadowvale Hotel, Mississauga
To help you with your new wardrobe here’s a run down of some of the key catwalk trends surfacing for Spring 2012.
Sporting Life:

Look out for sports details such as exposed contrast zips, stripes and tipping, parka details, kangaroo pockets, cropped tops (bare midriffs are everywhere), drawstrings and parachute silks. Color blocking is still very important – choose the strongest and most dramatic combinations.
Fit & Flare:

Moving on a decade from the 40’s revival of Fall 2011, the fifties ‘fit and flare’ silhouette is the major new trend for spring 2012. Trim, neat tops worn with dirndle skirts faring from the waist or hips is flattering for almost all body types and worn with heels will give the illusion of endless legs (yes please!). And the new fifties dress shapes are perfect for day to evening wear, accessorized with cropped, fitted jackets or skinny 3/4 sleeve cardigans. Check out our belt selection too – cinching your waist with a wide belt will give you that all important ‘waisted’ silhouette.
Accordion pleats and Grecian:

In line with the fifties revival is the accordion pleated skirt as illustrated above. At least some form of crystal pleating, folding, twisting or draping technique was incorporated into most of the Spring catwalk collections.
Lace & Cut-outs:

With so much femininity on the catwalks a lace top, skirt or dress is the perfect choice for any spring or summer wardrobe. However, also look out for the new lazer ‘cut-out’ fabrics which give the illusion of lace but are actually much bolder and geometrical in design.
Hope this helps your style selection for Spring and we look forward to seeing you at our sales!
